Default Vanden Plas seats in an xj8?

Hello, i have a 2004 xj8 and i found the same color seats from a vanden plas. i was wondering how easy they can be switched out and if the electronics are the same.. in the description its says fits xj8.. any problems i could run into? the description also says: 'seat switch not included' if my current seats are 100% intact and function perfectly, all electronic motions work, do i need a seat switch or is the old one ample? any help/comments with this conversion would be appreciated.. thanks

My Vanden Plas has 16 way adjustable seats, the XJ8 may be 12 way adjustable seats and would have different seat control modules, don't know about the harnesses.

I have a 2006 XJ8L and i replaced both my front seats with seats out of a Vanden Plas... There should NOT be any issues.. just make sure the headrest & seat adjust motors are all working and the seat heaters.. I love mine..

The seatbacks with trays are not compatible with the standard ones. They look similar, but when I tried them, they would not line up and none of the mountings are there.

Hi Bigvettefreak,
Did you used the XJ8 modules under the seat? or the one of the VandenPlas? I am waiting a front seat from VanderPlast (without modules, and without button, only the track and motors) the XJ8 is a 2 ways the VandenPlast 16 ways.... did you used a 12 or 16 ways buttons? Did you reprogrammed the modules?
Thank for your help!
Regards
