Vibration
My '08 XJ8 vibrates at speed. The vibration is most pronounced at 40 mph and above 70 mph but is present at other speeds as well. Balancing and alignment check out. The car tracks straight and true, does not pull to one side. Any thoughts on what might be the cause?
Could also be warped rotors. Warped rotors don't necessarily pull when applying brakes, more of a slow bounce or grab and release. But you would feel that in the pedal and in your seat. Vibrations felt at the steering wheel can also be worn out front hubs, failing air springs, motor mounts or a damaged caliper.
Bill It is all here thanks to Don:

I have been trying to source if there's a problem with my bearings . The rear wheels got a slight temperature near the center , more than handwarm (driving constantly 100km/h outside temp freezing) snd felt something is not right. Had no vibration though . I decided to make my mecanic change the bearings and the brakepads all round . He found one guiding pin on the caliper stuck on both sides at the rear.
causing the pads to not being in correct position warming up the brakediscs and the wheel center area
I HAD STUCK GUIDING PINS ALREADY ON THE FRONT 2 YEARS AGO
