vvt on jaguar xj8 4.0 2001 can some one answer on this plz
hi i have done some posts on this topic involving my timming chain replacement i am doing.first one ive done.so what i need to know is i had put all chains and new tensioners on.then along with the front cover.then i happen to read were the vvt has to be reset after removal.so i looked it up and this is what i did.i unbolted the unit off the front of the vvt gear.then i un done the bolt that holds the gear to the camshaft.then i had the special tool with the 2 locating pins on the end.i fitted it in to the centre of the vvt gear till the pins locate in the 2 holes.i then turned the tool ant iclock wise untill it came to a stop i then did the same with the oppoisite side .i have now bolted the electronic units back on which are retained by 3 bolts.have i done this right before i put the rest of the car back together
