Why are X350 owners so dang old?

It seems like every time I see an X350, without fail, the owner is 80+ years old.

Now I already drive an old man car ('97 LS400), but the X350 owners I've seen driving around make me feel like I'm driving a Honda Civic Si or something!!!

What is the deal with this?!

hlgeorge 08-16-2010 08:34 PM

I'm not 80 and I drive an X350! I know a lot of folks from 20's + driving them.

JagMaster 08-16-2010 09:20 PM

we like to wear fake masks and pretend to be 80 so we can cruise on the left lane without getting cursed at. I'm actually 21 tho.

amcdonal86 08-16-2010 09:20 PM

I see plenty of young enough (computer literate) people on this forum that drive them, but never when I actually see one on the road!

veffremov 08-16-2010 09:46 PM

21 - sheesh. That makes me practicaly old then.

awe you r not old, im just too young ;-)

I'm also 21. I had to throw some slight visual customization on my XJ to make people realize its not my father's car. The x350 owners are older because they are well off and have a preference to jags over mercs and bimmers.

you probably put some 22"s on it didnt u lol

amcdonal86 08-17-2010 10:21 AM

How on earth can you buy a $25k+ Jag at 21 years old?! I am almost 24 and just getting out of school, will be starting on a $60k+/year job in a few weeks and I don't even know if I can afford a used one!

fila0220 08-17-2010 10:31 AM

JagMaster: lol you would think so right? But i actually tried to keep it clean, and got tints, 20 inch jaguar rims (reps) and a blacked out grille.

amcdonal86: to make a long story short. My dad is a used car dealer, bought the car 3 years ago. So for my 21st birthday I traded him my Mercedes for the Jaguar.

Forty-seven years old here.

I feel older, quite often.

I'm 43, and my wife abuses me about apparently having two mid life crises....see my sig for why

amcdonal86 08-17-2010 03:54 PM

Ugh, I just saw a man in an X308 with wraparound sunglasses.

haggis95 08-17-2010 06:00 PM

I have a child seat in the back of mine!

It's put dents in the seat tho!

brdave 08-17-2010 06:11 PM

I didn't know that there were that many drivers that are 80+ still out there. Must be the neighbourhood that you live in.

58 years old here, and just got a ticket for tailgateing at highway speed. I called it drafting, wife wasn't amused. George.

52 years old ( quite old sometimes , but feeling young most time !! ) ,
Global cost of these kinds of cars , mainly insurance and running cost , is difficult for most young people , and maybe the image of Jaguar is not so young compare to other brand ,
Will be interesting to follow with the new shape ( F type and new XJ )
The Jaguar enthusiat club made a vote to know the age of the menbers , i remenber teh average was over 50 ( all models )

Drew 08-18-2010 09:34 AM

I'm 32 and have 2 jags. I guess I'm under the curve. Remember, it's not what you make, it's how much you can save :)
