X350 front passenger door lock stuck

X350 front passenger door lock stuck
My front passenger opened tried opening their side door, and managed to get the door lock stuck -ie the top short lever is stuck , and the lower long lever is also stuck , but sticking out. The door will not open.
It happened at the same time as I flicked the top lever on my door, to unlock all doors.
However - You can open the that door with this awkward workaround;
wind the window down,
pull both levers back which are stuck( just a bit of force to move it back slightly) then open the handle on the outside.
This is best down if stood outside the car.
Anyone come across this issue and found a solution ?
I don't fancy having to take this to a jag garage to pay for labour, just to take the door panel off and flick a lever free if something is stuck.
It can take a few hours to strip a side panel off, if you know how to do it.

I can't tell you precisely what the problem is but in all probability you will need to
remove the door card to sort it.
this is not diffcult but you need to know that there is a hidden screw behind the interior
door handle. I am guessing that once you gain access to the rear of the handle that
you will be able to sort it.

Hi meirion1,
Thanks for the prompt feedback.
I think I know the "hidden screw" - there seems to be a grommet fitting in the door handle recess , were the tweeter speaker is also.
I could try and tackle it, but I would end up marking the interior trying to extract the grommet, and trying to get it back. Also, I'm not sure if air bags are fitted into the side of the doors on X350 XJ ( YEAR 04) ?
( I have bad memories in trying to take off the door cover on my Ford Focus, as the motorised window mechanism was jamming. Lost a few days of my life and still couldn't fix it.)
I have seen threads on door handles stuck on the X jaguar models, and being a regular occurrence. It had good photos taken on the procedure to remove the door panel and the fix itself.

I'll do a bit more research to see if I can find instructions on the door panel removal.

Hi Forum members,
An update;
I contacted a local jaguar independent garage, and they knew of this problem.
Just a matter of taking away the door "card" cover - easier said than done.
Nothing is broken, just something stuck.
Will take an hour of labour to fix- they quoted me; £69 plus VAT.
So I am going to book it in. Any issues I will feedback.
