XJ8 (X350) 3.6 Engine Upgrade to a 4.2 Supercharged

Has anyone undertaken this modification?

It this engine swap straightforward if you have a complete engine with ECU?

Nope it is absolutely not straightforward for some pretty good reasons and I have not tried nor would I.

It would probably be less expensive to buy a V8 X350.

You can purchase a complete, good, running XJR for less than what it will cost you to convert a 3.5 to a 4.2 s/c

Michael, by way of some examples, the Wiring Harnesses, Cooling Systems, Uprated Brakes, stiffer Air Shocks and twin fuel pumps are only some of the dissimilarities…..

Ambitious idea, & way more doable if we were talking about G M.
Even Ford, or Chrysler, would have to be easier than any British car.
With the complex electronics they might be a lot harder to do, than before.
