I have enough room in there to attach the broken valley hose without removing the whole manifold. Do you think there is a way to access the place where the rubber gaskets go without taking the whole manifold off?

Agree with Wingrider. The fixings for the upper part of the Manifold can only be accessed from underneath. I would dry the sound deadening bag and use it again?

Will I need to undo these screws to access the upper manifold?

No.
Under side of the plastic portion of the manifold comes off.

Not sure from memory, could well be - but there are also fixings on the inner edge; I only remember that mine appeared obvious - Their function could only be to secure the two halves (aluminium and plastic) of the Manifold together?

Incidentally, (apologies for being somewhat premature) but when you refit your Manifold, make sure you pull the wiring harness at the back up and out of your way, so that it does not become trapped under your Brake Booster Pipe.....

I removed the manifold and torx screws. How should I get the old gaskets out without dammaging the manifold itself?

Also, my new hose looks a lot smaller than the new one. Is that normal?

You’ve both been very helpful!

Use this link (which I gave you in my first post numbered 4) to Michael Hamilton's post; if you scroll down, you will see that Michael was sent the wrong hose at first, and he corrects this and posts a picture and the correct part number further down (his post numbered 7)? Check your hose against his picture and part number...

I ordered the second hose mentioned, and got all of the part numbers from that thread. It just seemed shorter than the one I pulled from my car.

In any case, what do you think the best way to remove the seals might be?

I would carefully use some sort of plastic or wooden 'pick' type of tool (perhaps a wooden or plastic tooth pick) to remove them and then thoroughly clean with throttle body spray (or suchlike) and a soft cloth; no abrasives!

Looks like you found them.
Appears as if yours may have already been replaced at some point prior to your ownership.
The stock ones in my experience are not green, but gray in color.
All the replacements, i have seen, are green in color.
My old ones were removed using just my fingers.

I could not find a detailed step by step thread for N/A 4.2 x350s, but I’m pretty sure these are the parts I’ll need:

Under Intake hose AJ811763
TB Return hose AJ89554
Are the above parts the same part? I'm seeing a lot of confusion with respect to this hose. My current understanding is that there's a VIN split in MY 2005. AJ89554 appears to be up to VIN G49700 and AJ811763 seems to be from VIN G49701.
