5 speed manual 1996 X300 XJR seal repair kit for clutch master cylinder....
Pretty much as title.....I've had a price of near £300 from Manners parts UK for a clutch master cylinder but would rather not spend that if a seal repair kit will get me out of trouble .....Manners parts UK only list a repair kit for the slave cylinder....any help on availability of a master cylinder repair kit would be most appreciated.....its probably using a seal of a size which is out there as something else
For now I'm taking a chance on the seal kit being the same for both slave and master so I bought two slave kits.....but knowing my luck this won't work
Help appreciated

Not sure what you got in the UK, but there must be operations that rebuild/repair classic car hydraulic components.
Down here we got "Power Brakes", and they usually have seals for anything.
The master cylinder is ALWAYS a smaller dimaeter than the Slave cylinder. There is a ratio, but I forget now.
Perhaps a "google" of brake hydraulic repairers in your area will find someone.

What I do know is that the bore of the master is 19.05 mm....I think its a girling pattern so it may be as easy as finding out what 19.05 mm repair kit will fit from some other application.....I've got a UK classic spares firm looking into that....the main 19.05 seal might be a generic.....but the other small seals and boot seal might not be....so at worst I can see it being a case of using several seal kits from several cars.... Kits are about £5-10 so even if I have to buy several its still economical better than a £200 master cylinder....other than seals its simple to hone and polish a cylinder bore if its not too far gone.
UPDATE.
Solved I think....northwestclassic..... Northwestclassic@btinternet.co.uk
These guys are auto hydraulic specialists.....they know there is not going to be a kit for the master BUT....they said if the master can be stripped and the part numbers ID'd on the seals (very small print).....then they can supply the parts
So....hopefully there is a solution to not needing to buy a complete master cylinder....yes you can call me a cheapskate ....but over £200 for something that is no more complicated than any other master cylinder with half or less that price is a rip off..

Yep, and being a Clutch Master, there are no silly side ports etc to confuse the issue.
19.05mm is a "standard" Girling clutch cylinder, and that is from memory, OOPS.
Landrover, Triumph, MG, and heaps more used that size. Even the earlier Jags, in the guise of 3/4" may do the job????.
The boot will not a specific thing either, and the secondary seals should not be rocket science.
You sound like you are onto it.

Well circumstances have forced my hand being as the master finally decided to pack up and the pedal dropped to the floor the day before I was due to leave UK for another four months....its definitely the master being as I'm seeing black gunk in the reservoir which is evidence of the seals disintegrating...so for sake of simplicity I'm having a garage replace the master with one I sourced for a good price.... But I will keep the old one and strip it to find the seal component numbers .... Not that I should need to rebuild one again but for anyone who has the luxury of time to do the job.....at least Northwestclassic sound like they can ID the seals used.

Summary update
Unfortunately and typically we don't readily have the luxury of such specialist auto repair services in the UK....might be someone out there but they aren't household names

I bought an xj40 clutch master.....for £65 compared to £240 with the exact replacement for the X300 item...and barring the pipe outlet orientation which just amounts to a bit of a pipe bend kink ....... IT FITS A TREAT
So the moral of the story is that XJ40 clutch masters fit X300 manuals

X300 clutch master cylinder
Hi as another option I am fairly sure the later XJS HE 3.6 manual has the same clutch master cylinder as the XJ40 and XJ300.
I have a 1988 XJS 3.6 manual and the clutch master cylinder looks identical to the XJ300. This could make your search easier.
Cheers Ray.
