Default 96 Jaguar XJ6 power loss problems / battery drain

Hey so I have a 96 xj6, the engine runs strong, 178,000 miles & my problem that im dealing with is i have a good tested alternator, & battery, but im having a drain of some sort in the car. If my battery is fully charged itll start my car perfect but while driving you see the gauge dropping and power loss happens, battery only holds power for a good 15mins. Is there a relay that I can purchase before I get a mechanic out to check my electrical? If you have had any these problems please route me to a better position.

I noticed a discrepancy in the Jaguar documents so it's meter time to verify :

Is it a true lack of charging issue requiring battery charger / jump start or an indication on the car gauge only issue . As electrical devices heat up or bounce around as you drive " things " change so you have to not take a alternator bench or on car test as a 100 % valid test . The voltage regulator circuit input wire outside of the actual alternator casting cover has about 5 devices tagged on that can suck that circuit down and not allow the alternator to generate final product of power . Bonehead engineering . Is the alternator that is installed a " rebuilt " one ?

To remove the devices from the regulator input circuit you can all at the same time remove :

A. Alarm sounder connector behind right headlight lowest point on the lower shelf
B. Both wiper washer fluid nozzle heater connectors ( the plastic screws hold in the wiper trough are brittle and break and make sure you clock
the wiper blade back on properly ) the Papa Indy 1 connector will kill the engine
C. Both washer pump relays
D. A/C clutch relay

120 Amp voltage regulator with monitor Denso # IN435 or Jaguar # JLM-11144 replaces DENSO # 126000-1200

Mine was consumed by a backwards battery hookup

Also used on: ISUZU STYLUS 1992-93, JAGUAR 1993-1997, DODGE COLT 1991-92, ASTRO, IMPULSE, GEO STORM 1996-2000 Asuna (1993-1993) , Geo (1990-1993) , Isuzu (1990-1993) ####### unverified information ########

IN 435 information : Gauss

In trouble shooting the suppressor ( its a 22000 uF 50 volt rated capacitor ) You are looking for a climbing resistance and not a short or open , A meter powered by a less then a 9V battery my not have enough driving power . You can short the poles to discharge and watch it respond again .

Watch for final edit with more info you can do yourself

Thanks , Parker
