I know it's "doable" becuase I've read where several guys have done so over the years. Can't remember all the details but it apparently isn't difficult.
Some minor wiring changes.... But I think the actual physical installation is straightforward if you get the complete X308 lamps and mountings.
Others will chime in with better info.
Cheers

The dull look is easily repaired.
Remove the headlamps and bulbs and take 'em to the kitchen sink. Add a couple drops of liquid dishsoap and some warm water and simply slosh away the dirt. Rinse, repeat, rinse repeat. Set 'em aside to dry.
( Do not attempt to actually wipe or scrub the insides of the lamps.)
I did this and was amazed (shocked, actually) at the improvement in both aesthetic appearance and operation of the headlamps.
The X308 headlights are still better by most accounts, and you still might want to make the swap....but I thought I'd mention that cleaning the lamps is possible and might give you the improvement you're looking for.
Cheers

Wow thanks for the advice, didn't know you can take it apart, thought it was all 1 piece. Those x308 are crystal clear but cost around 299$? Somewhere around there. Ill have to try it when I get time. Thanks again.

You can't take the lamps apart, no. The lens is bonded to the housing. But, you can remove them from the car (they just pry out) and do your washin' and sloshin' via the hole in the back where the bulb fits.

you can change to the new clear non fluted lights as i have in mine( I also converted to Stype HID projectors too). But the bulbs and connectors are differant so you need to siource the connectors from a junk yards, light maybe too because youll need to be sittign when you price them. Be sure to clearbra glass lights as they dont like rocks.

Hello. Yes you can change to newer 98 lights. But you need the whole light fitting
the actual frame that they snap onto. I have done this and changed to HID bulbs at the same time. I now have the parking light bulb on the inside light now. You can't use your 9005 or 9006 bulbs with the 98 lights. I think the new ones are H1 bulbs. You will like the new lights. Good luck
