Yep, I know exactly what it is.
The auxiliary coolant pump which pumps hot coolant into the core. It contains brushes which wear down. Luckily this is a CHEAP fix, as in a few dollars and some time!
What you need to do is order some graphite brushes from amazon and file/sand them down to the correct size--you will see that size when you open the coolant pump. You just solder the wires from the brushes onto the circuit and it's good to go! There's a guide here that I can't find as I'm on my phone. Do a forum search for 'auxiliary coolant pump.' It is such an easy fix with immediate results. Good luck.
