Well, the tps adaption is the only one really related to idle control. I think you should go back and ask to confirm what they did, and get them to do the tps if they did not FOR FREE!

 

take a look at your coils at night with the cover off and the car running, if any are lighting up they are bad.

 

hi my name is jc, i stay in bay area out of cali, this is my first time leaving a message on here, but i always check jaguarfourms if i come across a problem on my uncles 1997 xj6 4.0L and you guys on here are great!!!solved alot of problems with the wonderful and educating responses from you guys. so my problem is when our jag firsts starts up cold start everything is good,once temp reaches more than a quarter of the way i get a missfire p300,and p1314 same code eveytime, we did alot to this jag new plugs,new ignition coils,new maf,new oxygen sensors,replaced precat converters,new engine coolant temp sensor both of them,fuel pressure is good,did orings on the injectors,new egr valve,new head gasket and replaced valves. still same problem. any good advise would be highly apprciated!thanks guys

 

Do you have an original key fob?
I have found that when the battery is disconnected and the security system isn't reset (keyfob) it will trigger and shut the car down.
