!997 XJ6 4.0 ...Radiator resevior has a drain hole
Seems I'm losing coolant through the drain hole, fill up reservoir to max, which is clearly marked in the reservoir. Drive 5 minutes, puddle of coolant? Have not pressure tested the system, as of yet, any starting places? I'm in the US, I love my Jag. But scared to drive it, any and help would be appreciated.
The puddle is always on the drivers side by the front tire but I don't see any leaks except from the drain hole at the bottom of the reservoir tank???

If you are concerned as to what the water temp really is you can purchase this tool from harbor freight .
https://www.harborfreight.com/infrar...er-93984.html\
You would have to test at a couple of points being the water pump body itself , the area just around the temp sensor ( there are 2 , the instrument gauge sensor is the 1 wire ) , and the outlet to the 2 nd electric water pump to the cabin heater that pulls water from the block independent of the main engine mechanical water pump as this would pull out a block sample . You would have to sand the laser target surface to get a accurate reading to compare to the instrument gauge .
The X300's AJ16 engine is robust up to a point
Have you thought about putting a paper towel that would visually show ( blue paper shop towel ) under the hoses you can place under as it is pressurized ?
Any questions , just ask and some one will further you toward a resolution .

Radiator draincock is on the RHS, at the bottom of the RHS Radiator side tank. There is no drain port on the reservoir. It has a nipple on the bottom for a hose connection, about 5/8" IIRC. There is a pair of nipples at the top, front right, for hose connections - maybe 1/4" they are much smaller than the one on the bottom. There is the filler neck on top, and that is it for openings in the reservoir. There is a sensor port on the bottom at the front for the low-level sensor but it is not open to coolant. In other words, you can remove the sensor, with a full reservoir, and no coolant will escape, even under operation at temperature.
Given your description of the puddle, I would hold your b*stard hose and or the coolant rail gaskets under high suspicion.
