Air Condition stop cooling
My 97 X300 Air condition just stop cooling. The day before it was cooling great had to keep turning down to stay comfortable
. The next day wham, no cold air at all
. Is this normal?
I would have expected a reduce amount gradually. Everything else seems to work, lights, blower etc. Any help is appreciated.

The first thing to check is if you have any gas left in the system.
The way you subscribe your problem that sounds like it could be the problem beacuse the system will not start if the pressure is to low and just bofore the pressure gets to low it acctually cools better.
Do they compresser click in?? And ofcourse you can check the fuse aswell. The fuse is in the right side engincompertment fusebox.

I 2nd with our tech friend's idea and my two cents is you have no or insufficient gas left in your system that causes this problem .
Have it refilled by qualified staff , don't forget to use it at least once a week for 10 mins even when dead cold because these systems need to be run periodically .

Here in Spain, I now find I need to have it re-gassed on an annual basis. I know there must be a leak somewhere, but I don't know where!
Last time the garage put in a colour dye to trace, but that didn't produce much result!
Suspect it may be cheaper to re-gas than repair/replace what's faulty, but having to do it every year adds up also!

I have not check the fuses, yet. I didn't know that it would actually get cooler just before it looses pressure. As soon as it gets light enough, I'll check the fuses and see if the compressor kicks in, as the engine runs so quiet and the fan blower is pretty loud. Thanks guys I'll let you know something in a little while! As our seasons down here in middle Georgia (USA) Summer usually runs for about March through October, I'm not sure if there is a slow leak if one fill would do it. LOL

All the fuses checked out. Compressor doesn't seem to be kicking in. All blowers/lights/heater works. Friday morning 'CHECK ENGINE' light came on. So I decided it was time to have her checked out, I owe, I owe, it's off to the shop I go. Will post what they find out. Thanks, Guys!
Well as it has turned out the High pressure hose had a leak. The 'check engine' light gave code P0420 & P0430 catalytic converter sensers below threshold. they reset it and said to keep driving her and if it came on again we might have to replace it. So far she drives like a dream. I hope that she continues so!
