Brake lock sound
Hello guys,
Since a while, whenever I press on my brake pedal, I hear the unlock of gear sound even though the gear would be on D not P. What can be the problem?
Also I need help finding interior parts from an online website because I don't have any local stores around me so any suggestions?
Thank you in advance

Yes Doug is right and I'd say it more than probable it's almost a certainty.
This is the Not In Park switch
The switch is just a standard Lever Type micro switch that you can get from electronics stores or from ebay for small money, and the switch can be replaced in situ without removing the gear selector from the car.
Once you remove the Ski slope and expose the gear selector, remove the gear knob and the lock nut. Remove the 4 screws that hold the plastic gear indicator plate and remove it. This will expose the micro switch.
The switch is riveted to the frame of the Gear Selector mechanism but use a Mole Grip or something similar and just yank it off. Remove what remains of the old rivets if anything.
Put the new switch in place and secure with suitable screws and nuts (I used M2 x 16mm screws). Put some threadlock or other adhesive on the screws to stop the nuts coming off.
Cut the connector plug off the old switch and splice the wires to the new switch. Job done.
