Chasing Grounds/ "earth connections"
So, Im currently chasing a charging/voltage issue on the car and I believe I have found 3 major issues. First one being a main relay for the ignition control located in Right hand engine fuse box, and the other two being main grounds in the fire wall ( see pictures below) you can see how nasty they are.
Are there any guidelines for cleaning these? At this point im concerned that ill break the studs off they look HEAVILY corroded.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well as tips on checking other crucial or known issue grounds.
Thanks

Those look like the power pass-thrus at the firewall, not grounds. Step one of cleaning would be to disconnect the battery!
The wire connector has a nut on each side of it, so even if it is rusted, you should still be able to hold onto the inner nut somehow, while turning the outer. Use some penetrating oil if it is bad. If the plastic insulator is intact, all you have to do is clean the metal parts with a wire brush, then put some petroleum jelly over the connector when done. You want these to be clean!
A similar connector goes to the starter. See post "How to replace starter" (a few days ago) for a good image of that one courtesy of Auto666.
