Confused about an indicator on the dashboard?
I have a 1995 XJ6 with a 4.0 in it that I purchased a few days ago. Unfortunately it did not come with a owners manual which is why I am asking for some help. Unfortunately I am not able to attach a picture of it due to the fact that I am still in my probationary period with the website. The indicator looks like a circle with a small rectangle box on top and a big X across the front of it. It comes on when I turn on the running lights/headlights. As far as I can tell all of the lights are working properly. Any help understanding the indicator light and what does it mean would be appreciated.

Hi Again, that would be the bulb fail warning light (has been described as a grenade). But and it is a big but, you can walk all around the vehicle lit up like a Xmas tree and not find a dud bulb.
The fail modules can go bad. Also if you look into the X300 FAQ, you will see that the Drivers Manual is available for download. 25mb but well worth the time. |
Just as a matter of interest, does anyone know if the aforementioned bulb failure indicator, only applies to the exterior driving lights, indicators etc. or does it also cover interior and boot lights? Just wondering? Might explain the xmas tree on the outside syndrome?
