You pick. They will all fit depending on how you mount them. I would go with the 6 1/2. That is what I put in mine and they sound great. I would go with the separate tweeter and woofer. Just find a place to install them that you like. I went with the infinity speakers...

I just done mine today and used Kenwood KFC-1666S in all four doors. I placed 5/16 stand offs

(held in place with a dab of hot melt glue) under the speaker face to lift them away from the surround so that the Cone of the speaker did not touch. They have the mount holes pre drilled in the speaker so no drilling required

I just installed new replacement speakers in my 97 XJ6 (base with CD changer) for the four doors. I found a killer deal on Amazon and they sound great!


These have great reviews on the internet for "best budget" replacement speakers, and I managed to hack the adapter ring they come with to fit in the space without modifying the door card (mounted the speakers flipped over on the adapter ring). They are larger than the stock speakers but less depth. Too bad the speaker grill is so integrated in the panel, as there is some volume lost to the smaller opening, but not enough to make me want to ruin the stock panel.
