Default Driver Side Kick Panel

Hey guys, I am trying to get to some electrical wiring behind the kick panel to the left of the driver's feet, but I can't see how to remove it. I tried tugging around the edges but it didn't come loose and I don't want to break it. Anyone know how to remove it? Should I just pull harder or is there something else I should do?
-Thanks, Oden

Do you have a left or right hand steering model ?

Is it the center console ?

It is left hand steering.
Here are some pics.
There is that plastic pin that looks like it is holding it on but I don't know how to take it off. I tried pulling on it but it wouldn't come loose.

The stud you have that is holding the trim panel on is not the correct one.

The original stud is a 1/4 turn fitting with a slot in the head and is easy to remove. Over the years these get broken/lost and people just put some generic fitting in there to hold it. Usually a Fir Tree type fitting.

You need to get that stud out - either using a trim tool or cutting the head off it with a sharp knife or chisel. Then pull back the furflex door aperture trim and the panel will be easy to remove.

For info, the original stud fitting is AGU 2229 (plus a colour code depending on what you have).

With a fir tree type interior trim fastener you can get under the head with a 10 dollar auto trim tool

It will pull straight out like a nail in wood

Replacement fastener common on auto parts store rack
