Dam that could be costly
Funny how its just the things you said if it had fried the car you would have thought it would have fried the lot
Try flipping the fuses around they can sometimes get a bit corroded from being in the same spot for a long time also I had a couple fuses blown that looked fine to the naked eye only reason I found that out was I just replaced all of them on a hunch while you are checking them see if anything smells burned or has a burned smell I wont jump start modern cars unless I have special anti zap jumper leads learned that the hard way years ago on a new ford

Do this again but try a "hard reset": remove both cables from the battery and then hold them together for a few seconds.
Cheers

Does the vehicle have an OE Varta battery as fitted by Jaguar to UK vehicles or an aftermarket replacement? If it's a Varta, you can tell the age of it from the code on the negative terminal:
This one is 23-12 indicating it was manufactured Week 23 in Year 2012.
Any battery over five years old is on borrowed time.

hard reset
cheers guys will try a hard reset, thats a new one for me. unfortunately the jump car was running at the time ops ! The flat battery has been replaced sadly with an after market bosch. Does anyone know if the seats can be adjusted manually, the drivers seat is perfect for me but the passenger seat needs raising for my wife.

I think this is the correct circuit diagram for your model:
