Engine running high on idle

Hi Please can anyone help,

I have a 3.2 Sport x300 and when I return the transmission to park the rev counter reads high between 10 and 20. Normal tickover from cold is normally between 7 and 8.

Any help is very much appreciated

I would start with (and hope for) the easy. Check for vaccuum leaks.
