Default European parts might not fit?!

The rear was not feeling right, so, I decided to replace the strut.
Order shocks from the US, but, the coils springs from Europe [KYB Europe RC5326]. Took the parts to a shop [I don't have a workspace right now].
I was told the coil springs did not fit/match.

A. Has anyone fitted coil springs from KYB Europe?

B. Do you know of part-number/brand that would fit US market '97 VDP?

In what respect? Too long long, too short? What was the difficulty?

You can see if the Jag dealer can still get orignals.

Or try a Jag parts specialist: Coventry West, Motorcars LTD, Paul's Jaguar, Welsh Jaguar, etc.

Not even the official Jaguar parts catalog breaks out the VDP individually with respect to coil springs. Four different rear springs were used: 6 cylinder normally aspirated, 6 cylinder supercharged, V12 comfort, V12 sports.

Any of those choices should physically fit into place. If what you received won't fit I'm inclined to say they simply sent parts that are totally incorrect.

I found out this after getting the part, but, the '97 VDP part is JLM12257 spec'd at 390 mm length.

The part I got is spec'd at 347 mm length, fitting the list I posted earlier.

This is what I ordered, but, they had mistakenly listed VDP in the cars that fit.

Sadly this sort of issue comes up very often with aftermarket springs.

The JLM12257 seems to be applicable to a large array of Jags:
Part search results for jlm12257 - Jaguar Classic Parts UK

Off hand it sounds like KYB is selling (shorter) springs that might be correct, or more nearly correct, for the Sports/XJR suspension.

Yes, it seems like what I have in hand would fit a lot of Jags.

Sometimes you get new springs that are shorter when compared to the original springs but after install the car sits higher

recently had that with the wife's Jeep GC
