Exhaust silencer

I'm going to need to repace both of my exhaust silencers soon. The OEM parts are £144 and aftermarket reproductions are £90 (links below). Is it worth paying the extra? Will I notice any difference? Any help much appreciated.

If anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated. The aftermarket parts are lighter, 5kg, vs 6.17kg for the OEM parts. Is this likely to affect the sound of the car or the amount of time the parts will last?

For the price difference, I would go with the aftermarkets and see how they work. But before you put them in, run the car without them and see what happens. The exhaust sound might be a bit louder! I'd expect it. Not too many here have undertaken exhaust mods. I think a few have pulled out or hollowed out the silencers. The amount of back-pressure is apparently an important consideration for proper engine operation. And it seems Jaguar designed the car to be as quiet as possible. That said, I wouldn't mind a bit more growl from the exhaust. Thank you for testing this out for us!

I imagine that simply replacing the silencer would unlikely make much difference. When it comes to exhaust modifications, most people adopt a package approach, i.e. cat, silencers and tail boxes at the same time.

OEM last much longer. I have first hand experience of having fitted an OEM silencer and an aftermarket one, as OEM wasnt available at the time for one side. The OEM one is still going strong, the aftermarket one had to be replaced about 2 years ago.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I think I'll pay for the OEM ones. Longer-lasting and quieter is what I'm after.
