Default Got hit today, if you're parting out a '96 VDP you may have a customer

Short version, someone hits me on the highway today at speed, spins me out across a couple of lanes. Good news, lighter traffic on a Sunday so I didn't get flattened by a semi.

Bad news, by rear back door and quarter panel are all beat up. Now, this will be on their insurance. That said, something tells me parts for a '96 VDP are going to be a bit difficult to find, especially in green.

So any help is appreciated. That and random sympathy. Ha.

Cheers.

Sorry for your trouble, but as you suggested, it could have been a lot worse! As per another post, parts are easy enough to come by, regardless of colour.

Because of the excessive annual motor tax here in Ireland (€1,800.00 pa ) these cars are scarce enough. I travel a lot and I might see another one about once a week or fortnight! That's why I appreciate having a donor car!

It sounds as though you're going to have some paintwork done either way, so I wouldn't worry too much about the colour.

Sympathies again and hope you get sorted soon.

Hi
Sorry to hear that happened..... you should be able to easily source replacement parts via eBay..... Perhaps you could post a picture of the damage. It would help with sourcing parts needed.

Your timing is off a bit... I parted out my '96 VDP and sent the body to the crusher a month ago. Call auto salvage yards in the Tampa Bay area to see if they still have it.
The outfit, I think was ACI; in any case call 727-437-2050 (Tarpon Springs?). My car was a solid un-rusted VDP.
