Default Headlight failure idea

About a week ago I was driving down the road when a lady pulled up beside me screaming that my headlight was out. When I looked at it i saw that both my headlight and fog light on the right side were very dimmed. The next day when I turned my lights on the bulb failure light came on as I expected it would soon. However, the next day it was back off and lights were back to dimmed. I replaced some fuses hoping that would be the problem but I'm having some trouble remembering which ones. The fog light came back on regular for about another 2 days until it also went back to dimmed. I've recently installed subwoofers in my car and was thinking they might be taking too much power. Does anyone have an idea on what I can do? I don't want to go buy a bulb if it's going to be the same way after.

I start by looking for poor connections/poor grounds for the right side front lamps. I haven't checked the schematics but I'd bet the lampsin question share a common ground.

Cheers

Do the parking lights/fog lights/headlights all share a common ground somewhere?

I still have a similar problem with my XJR. When you flick the side switch on for example, parking lights only, 50/50 they will work. Inside lights always come on so the car thinks they're on. But the times when the parking lights don't come on, therefore preventing the fog lights from turning on too, then not only do the parking lights not work outside, neither do the taillights. Flip the switch the whole way and headlamps always work!

It's done this since I bought it. Scary at night...good thing we have rear fog lights cuz that's the only thing on in the back at night when parking lights/taillights arent working.

Me and my electrician friend ripped apart the control panel for all the lighting switches with not luck, tested relays, etc. Zero luck.

You can actually be driving with parking lights and fog lights on, and maybe ten mins down the road youll look down to see the fog light switch not illuminated anymore because the parking lights somehow cut out!

Don't know where the grounds are or old wiring. Maybe similar issue as this member stated??

Damn electrical gremlins again!

Find the color code on the headlight wires that are going bad and follow those wires down the harness.
