That model isn't particularly known for overheating issues. It might be as simple as a faulty thermostat or a problem with the electric fans.

<shrug>

Hard to say for sure.

replied in another thread. BUT YES BE SUSPICIOUS. As Doug said it might be nothing, but then again it could be terminal.

If you need to, pay a local independant mechanic 100$ to check it out for you before you buy. You could end up saving a packet by not purchasing it.

the overheating itself may not be a huge issue, but if you do not address it immediately, it will cause huge problems, like warping your head.

because yes, it is uncommon for these cars to overheat, but when they do, it only takes a second to pop that head, and you might not see signs for months.

but as a precaution, flush your coolant, change your thermostat, and ensure proper operation of cooling fans. if not, check the wiring and connections, & you may end up having to replace the cooling fan control module, which is a big fat white relay that is mounted up under and behind the left side of the bumper.
