Both my 95XJ6 and 97 Vanden Plas are daily drivers. The 95 has 176k on it and the 97 has 203K on it. I've driven them from Kentucky to Chicago, to West Virginia, etc...
If you make sure that your fluids are proper, your tires are good and everything is running right, there shouldn't be a worry unless you have a really long torso and just can't fit in the car.
When we go on long trips we take the Vanden Plas because of the legroom in the back. It's amazing just how much difference 15cm makes. It also has heated seats all around.

2 days
I go to school 2 days..It takes about 30 miles..I cant really cruise due to traffic but on the way back when I cruise 55-60..It reads i get 28-32 mpg..but from 65-70 its 23-25mpg. Not sure if my clock is off for the mpg but I pushed the cat to 135 twice, the manual says it can reach 155 but thats when the gov kicks in.

Brilliant!!! You guys make me much more confident on my X-300. I am thinking of taking it for a 150 miles trip next month with my little baby. I am going to change all the tires before I go. For the speed, I was just curious coz I tried 80 miles/hr and I feel that it's still in an easy mode with more room to go. However, with old tires, I dont wanna push too far.
Cheers,

Thank you everyone. I finally changed all the tires and hope that everything will be alright for the trip.
@Straight6DOHC Thank you for your compliments. I used to drive from London to Scotland too and I must say I envy you for such a blessed beauty of your highland country. Really love to go back again. Wish me luck : )))

My XJR6 has always been a summer ride back in Buffalo so it hardly got 2500-3500 miles put on each year and it was a "sunny day" car as well. However, since my cross country move to Phoenix this past October (that put 2,000 miles on her in 3 days without one hiccup...I still cringe thinking about that) I try to keep the miles down on her here too but I have the luxury of driving it any beautiful day I want in AZ.
Having a 5spd Honda as a DD I'd say roughly 100 miles or less per week on my pride & joy.
As far as speed...anyone who lives in Phoenix knows if you're not doing 75-80mph on the 101 people will be "not happy with you." And you pretty much need to get on the 101 all the time no matter where you're headed!
I must say things are much more lenient in AZ and there are many (many) opportunities to stretch a fast car's legs out here. I've had my Jag up to around 100mph in my XJR6 with plenty of pedal left. Who needs a V8?

I may be different to you guys but I didn't buy my Jaguar for the speed. I bought mine for the comfort and the "waft".
If you don't understand what "waft" is, think of it like this .....
You can drive a souped up Ford Escort or a tricked out Honda Civic and get from "A" to "B" a lot faster than me but I would cover that same distance with style. Don't get me wrong though. It's not a pretense of class. Nobody would mistake me for royalty if they saw me but it's more a state of mind thing.
Plus, I hate putting petrol in it.
