Hi guys,

I've got a Jaguar XJR 1997 Reg on R plate. It's the 4.0 supercharged.

So car wouldn't start one morning. I narrowed it down the fuel pumps wanted replacing, so I set about removing the fuel tank from the rear of the car. Took everything off easily enough but I pulled the tank out without disconnecting the fuel line underneath the tank - I simply forgot.

I believe this is the main fuel line to engine and other one is fuel return line. The clip I damaged is the one that holds the fuel line into the tank. I believe they are called self retaining clips - they've got 4 prongs which basically grip the lip on the fuel lines to stop it from pulling out of the tank.

I thought it would be a part that any auto part stocked. I thought wrong. I've been everywhere and looked everywhere but nobody has seen anything like it so I called Jaguar, explained it the the parts guy, he sent me a jubilee clip didn't expect much really , so I explained it to him again and he said it comes with the tank so I've gone from a 99p clip to £390 tank - I dont think so!!!!!

When I type in 'self retaining clip' on Google I have found some for a Chrysler but in America and they wont ship to UK
