Default Spotless Jaaag. Thanks to all!

Hi there,

Although at home my parents and brother have owned Jags for over 20 years now, my wife and I bought our first proper one a few months ago, a lovely XJ6 executive X300.

Thanks to all of you and this forum I've managed to sort out all the little gremlins that it had, the last one (and main) being an abs light which was solved yesterday by soldering the two main pins in the abs module...now the car is faultless, truly brilliant.

Apart from that I've replaced the wheels with a mint set of Lattice in 16'' which will soon be swapped with a spare set of xj12 wheels with winter tyres. Suspension bushes, usual maintenance things, the timing sensor tilt mod and a few other things have been done to it. Next on the list is a powerflow system which I've just purchased and I am also working on an induction kit a bit different to what people have previously used here, with an Apexi filter and a Kevlar/Carbon box, we'll see.

Almost forgot I also just finished adapting a gear knob that I got off my local jaguar breaker, looks great imho. A couple of weeks ago I also steam cleaned the entire engine bay and chassis and under-sealed the whole thing, luckily it had been very well looked after and it has no rust at all.

So far we've done about 7000miles in 4 months and we absolutely adore the car so we're convinced it will be a keeper (at home we have never thrown a car away!)...to be honest it's my wife's car which is actually great because I she is under the impression I am doing something useful when working on the car not just enjoying myself

Just a quick word of thanks then, to all of you and to such wonderful car!

There go a couple of pics of the car with its proud owner and of the gear knob, I shall keep adding pictures of all the things I will do to it.

Very nice!! I like the gear knob too, what model did it come from?

I just started my journey with a 95 VDP, plenty of Gremlins and ghosts to keep me busy this winter

Thanks guys!

No idea what model it came off as they had a box of jag gear knobs lying around. It was one of those which are threaded but still with an allen nut to keep it in place which I didn't like as it raised the whole thing quite a bit to decided to take the insert out, machine it and mount it as you see in the pics. I remember seeing a similar one on ebay which was supposed to be oe from jag for over £100 so quite happy with the £10 I paid for it plus the 2 min machining job!

I am finding this particular jaguar easy to work with when compared to my brother's xj40 or the xjsc that's at my parents at the moment so so far the gremlins in it have been quite rewarding to sort out
