Keyless / Alarm receiver location..

Hello I have a 1995 Jaguar XJ6 and I am I trying to locate the keyless/alarm receiver on the car. I have done hours of research and even called the dealership but they are not willing to tell me the location of it. It's like I'm asking for the administrative passwords to some top secret government thing or something.
But anyways any help would be great! :)

Hey thanks for responding! I am unable to access those links though. Maybe my account is too new?

Hi precrack, perhaps if you say why you want to get at the alarm system, you might receive more help.

Anyhow, on my 93 it is in the overhead console, the bit that looks like a radar dome. Although removing it will not deactivate the alarm/security system. Not a government secret.

Understand that people are naturally a little wary about Alarm or How to deactivate security systems in an open forum.

Thanks for the Bulletins Bob, off to check to see if we have them over in the X300 section. I'm guessing that we do, but if not, may I add them?
Back from checking the X300 sections, nope, we don't have them there. Are you OK for me to add them?

All the best,
Richard

Hey Translator, I totally understand what you're saying.. The reason I would like to locate it is because I have a upgraded receiver that has MUCH more range, and I was thinking it would be a lot easier to locate the factory one and tap into the existing wires since they would all be in one spot. The whole idea is to bypass the old one and install a new one in it's place. I know there are other options out there but since it's such a mystery I'd really like to just find out anyways just to know.
