Default My poor sunroof...

So I picked up a modified VDP for nothing at a government auction. Apparently the car was owned by some Chicago drug lord or something.

Anyways! The problem I'm having is my sunroof. The molding around it is no longer waterproof I've found out today after some substantial rain. Also, All parts seem to be there, and the motor works, but I cannot get everything in there correctly.

In addition, does the sunroof move back? or just lift up?

Any help or diagrams would be appreciated as well as any ideas where to get some new molding!

Much thanks,

Sawyer

The sunroof moves back in addition to tilting up. One of the plastic bits in the tilt mechanism could be broken.

The sunroof gasket DOES NOT seal the roof. The sunroof has a drain in each corner attached to a drain hose. Those hoses get plugged. Many gaskets (including mine, BTW!) have been changed needlessly. Does yours move at all?

What I'd suggest to clean the gaskets would be some weed whacker string. Just open the sunroof, and thread the string through the tubes.

Of course, if your sunroof isn't fitted flush with the roof of the car, it could very well be the cheap plastic tilt mechanism.
