Need some help - Name that bearing
 

My mechanic, for now until my car gets put together, told me that they need the inner and outer bearing for this part. They are telling me that they need
PART # JLM1708 INNER AND OUTER BEARING AND SEALS KIt
PART # CBC8207 COLLAR/BEARING SPACER
But a JLM1708 is a wheel bearing but based on these pictures what do they really need. The last picture has the JLM1709 next to it

There was a change on the wheel bearing and more important the seal on the X308 counterpart

The pic is of the output shafts in the differential itself

How did I know you were the first ones to respond. Idiots told me to get the wheel bearings. That is what I was thinking it is. Just not sure which ones to get. I finally told them to get what you need. I am already into this thing for over 2.5K what's another few hundred. I have had it with these guys. Just when I thought that I finally found a good Joe to do the work.

There is a TSB on the output shafts bearing replacement I can't find right now

Those are the output shaft bearings on the differential. 56157C is the number etched on the bearings on the output shafts I have. Made by FAG in Germany. I have seen another photo of JLM11527 (which is what you need) and the number on it is 6207-20, made by Koyo in Japan. Usually bearing numbers are quite standard, but any industrial bearing supplier should be able to get these for you, no need to go to Jaguar.

6207/C3 seems to be the common number I have seen those in SKF as well.

Those shaft assemblies are the same from the XJ40 (1987/88 XJ6) onwards.

To add emphasis to Lady P's comments, there are an assortment of parts needed for this job, all of which are illustrated on the Jaguar classic parts site. It is not an entirely straightforward task to reassemble the output shaft correctly, and you might wish to consider whether your mechanic is up to job. I appreciate that if he already has the car apart, you may have burned your bridges already, but you should ensure that he is aware of the specific reassembly requirements.

They have the wrong bearing, and you can buy pieces or the whole stub shaft assembled already to just install. Iirc
