New Codes (95 XJ6)
Yesterday, my extraordinarily dependable 95 XJ6 had two sudden issues. I will separate post the other problem (dash lights) in a another thread. The first problem is the check engine light came on. I have these codes:
1185
1186
1191
1192
I looked these up with the Jaguar Codes and it said they are related to the O2 sensors. I am at a lost as I just put 4 new sensors in about a month ago (and 200 miles). Any help sincerely appreciated!

I haven't looked up the codes, so I'll take your word for it. It is not at all uncommon for people to cross the connectors when changing O2 sensors. While a month seems like a long time, 200 miles isn't much. When you looked up the codes, did you perchance take note of the drive sequence required to ensure they are fixed? It would not surprise me if it spends 200 miles looking at data before setting the codes after it has been cleared.
Why did you change sensors? Did you have these codes before the change and clear them after installing the new parts?

Proper connector hookup to the correct connector is important and may be a source of problems although I have not experienced it myself . On the AJ16 engine the #1 cylinder is the forward most position ( opposite of the AJ6 ? ) . So the B1S1 ( bank 1 sensor 1 ) is on that pipe forward of the forward Cat . B1S2 is aft . On the ECU side of the connectors they have the same wire colors with exception of the one important return signal wire to the ECU .
B1S1 Green
B2S1 Brown
B1S2 Blue
B2S2 Red
Not to be confused with the term orientation as this is a requirement to have the Jaguar shop " match " the changed sensors with the ECU under certain ( unknown to me ) conditions . Some readers may already know this but this information is for others that are new to this . Hope this helps some people . Clean your sensor shield grounds locted on the left upper engine firewall that has multiple wire terminals .
