Hello everyone,
I'm a new jag owner so please bear with me, first off is this the right section for my car, and if so does anyone out there know of any places to get used jag parts online besides E-Bay? I need a few small things like the cd cartridge for the cd changer and a key fob and do I need to go to a Jaguar dealer to get an extra key made? I'm sure I will be asking alot more questions down the road so thanks in advance.
Mike

Welcome, Mike!

Coventry West in Lithonia GA has many new and used parts. PartsGeek has about the best prices on new parts in my experience, for what they carry (not too much!)

Ypu have the secret of these cars figured ut- work on it yourself and they are pretty affordable.

Yup!

As mentioned, Convetry West is a good supplier. So is Mororcars Ltd.

If yours is like mine, and I'm 99% sure it is, you need a carttridge for an Alpine "620" series changer. Google it. They're readily available

and a key fob

Very expenisve new. And particularly cheap even used. I heard that a Saad fob (hey, that rhymes) will work. I'll try to get the specifcs

and do I need to go to a Jaguar dealer to get an extra key made?

Yeah, a regular locksmith almost certainly won;t have the Jaguar keys blanks or cutting equipment

The Saab fob idea is a non-starter. It works on the earlier 315Mhz system, Your '97 will have the later 433Mhz system

Hello I took my new blank key to the dealer here in Toronto and they cut it for free
all they needed was my serial no. And it did not need to be programed. I can tell
you where you can buy a new blank for $ 7.00 plus shipping. My total was $ 10.71.

I've been a motorhead all my life but this is my first Jaguar and my first car with a computor everything before has been from the 70's or older. My other vehicle is a 1972 ford bronco.
