Unhappy Niagra Falls of oil

Starts up there some where above starter

Flows (yes flows) down this-a-way After getting to operation temp, accelerated a bit to engage SC and looked underneath. Within seconds oil was coming down quite startalingly.

So good news and bad. I know where it's coming from, where it's coming from seems REALLY bad. Hope someone can tells me it's not a rear main or worse.

Feel along the back of the valve cover along the rear firewall and ensure the valve cover gasket is in place and not blown out

There is a machine cutout in the head back there on the top side where the valve cover gasket has a D shape in it that can be out of place

There is a recent picture of the gasket resolving his Niagra Falls

the pic is of the gasket upside down as the Ds point down

Funny that, because I didn't enjoy it much.

Just one more shot, from the top of the location of the leak, before I commit to pulling the gear box. Dirty oil, (running rich, a problem for another day), dripping down between the block and the transmission mating. Definately the rear gallery plug?
ps - any dimensions on the o-ring. I'd rather replace with a viton one.
