Non OEM key fob for 1997 3.2 XJ sport
Hey guys,
I have 2 original key fobs, but unfortunately works just, one.
On Ebay i see there are non OEM fobs with 433Mhz frequency available.
Has anybody tried using them to your cars?
Is the programming of new fob straightforward or I can damage the original programing settings by doing this.
If I program this fob to the second position and something fails will it not ruin my original settings of my only last original key fob.
Want to have 2 working fobs, but still afraid of doing worse as is now.
This is the pic of the fob on ebay what im talking about.

I had the same thought. I even ordered this key to try it out on my 97 XJ6. It never arrived, but I did get a refund. I assumed it was a 6-cut tibbe blank and not the 8-cut we need as X300 owners but thought if it accepted programming there might be a way to remove the blank and epoxy in an 8-cut blank, although it might be tricky to get it to fold up again because I'm not sure if the 8-cut blanks are longer than the 6-cut. Keep us posted if you try it.
