Radio/CD Changer question
I have a 1997 XJ6 VDP with non premium sound system. My cd changer went out a few weeks ago it just says no disc even though the magazine is full. I bought one of these off of ebay to try to plug in place of the cd changer and it didn't work Alpine KCM-123B Aux Cable. M-Bus to mini-plug.
Alpine KCM 123B Aux Cable M Bus to Mini Plug Stereo | eBay My question is there any thing like that for our radios I can buy that will work. Thank You |

The early radios worked with the Alpine CD changers but Jaguar changed the software.
You might have the updated radio according to TSB 15-41. bob gauff |

I took the CD changer out and took it apart to see if I could find a problem with it. I found that the spline gear on the motor that moves the cd from the magazine to the player was striped. So I rigged it to work for know . If my fix breaks I will have to try and find a new motor with a spline gear on it.

All the Jaguar Sedan CD changers from the 80s up to 1997 use the same unit.
Even if you find a damaged one, you could swap parts until it works. I made a lot of money gathering broken parts from the Jaguar dealer shop and fixing them. I took 2 or 3 broken 'THINGS' and bodged them together to make a good used part and selling them on eBay. ABS modules, A/C vents, blower motor assys etc. Look for a broken one and see if you can get it cheap for parts. bob gauff |
