Hey guys, finally able to get the rear seat out so i could remove the 6x9 sub. My question is, i just want a quick cheap replacement 6x9!! It has two plug connectors right? What does this mean? Anything i can cross reference with at walmart or radioshack? Just want something simple and basic. thanks

 

I did this project 2 summers ago on my XJR. Who would have though all the back seats and back dash would have to come out? what a headache. But once you know where all the screws are it isn't that bad.

Anyways, I would highly recommend just ordering the OEM Sub replacement from your local Jaguar dealer. I researched for weeks thinking I could just pop in any good brand aftermarket 6x9 speaker. Won't work that way because OEM premium stereo systems are very finicky. That's why some have to be completely rewired when changing out all speakers to even any reputable aftermarket brand.

I went to every Jag parts source I know and the only place that sold a legit OEM sub replacement was the Jag dealer. Mine ran me right around $140 (ish).

Def more pricey than even a really good aftermarket 6x9 but it correctly fits back into the OEM spot and has the connectors already in place to pop it back in. All the aftermarket 6x9's I looked at were too LARGE to even drop back into the sub spot in our X300's. The OEM subwoofer is much shallower so it can still fit under the rear dash.

Save yourself the hassle, buy it through the Jag dealer while they're still available, pop it back in, and put everything back together. Enjoy your tunes again! It's the very first thing I did to my XJR when I bought it...the sub speaker was SHOT and I couldn't stand it. Hope this helps you out!
