Refurbed Suspension;Sagging Rear End 1995 X300
1995 Jaguar X300. 112,000 miles. Car sat very low, front control arm bushings were in terrible shape, and tires had a bad wear pattern.
Just replaced all suspension bushings, ball joints, coil springs, and spring isolators. Front ride height is now correct. Rear ride height is 1.1" too low. All-wheel alignment has not yet been performed. What gives? Is this something I should correct with shims, or go back to the coil spring supplier (JagBits) and question their spring specifications?
Suggestions?

Hi Wayne,
When the rear springs were replaced, were new yellow foam "donut" spring isolator bushings installed as well? They are directly related to ride height but compress over time, though usually 1/2 inch or less. How are you measuring ride height, and is it a factory spec you are comparing it to?
I do believe there were different spring heights/spring rates available for models with different engines, so it would be worth confirming the part numbers with your supplier.
Cheers,
Don

At some point in production in 1995 the rear springs were superseded to a taller spring with more coils (like model to like model). There were complaints about ride height and harshness while the car was loaded up. So typically the 96+ model years will have taller rear springs. My early build 1995 car's rear springs have surprisingly few turns and the ride height is quite low, although I have not overhauled the suspension. Of course there were different specs for the rear springs depending on model and market as Don says.
