Default Removing the ECU Panel

I'm trying to remove the panel in front of the ECU on my 1997 Jaguar XJ6. I've managed to get one of the clips off, but I damaged it in the process. The other clip, located nearest to the door, remains stubbornly in place. I'm having trouble reaching it and figuring out how to get the panel off without damaging it. I can't imagine that it was deliberately designed to be this difficult to remove. Is there some technique to removing this clip?

gracehi88, I've moved your post from the X-Type section to the XJ (X300) section so members/techs familiar with your model/year can better assist you.

Did you pull the felt/rubber trim from the door pinch-weld seam?

The 2 metal hook type clips will slide toward the rear of the car when the trim piece is removed and pulled back.

You only need to pull a section of the trim (not all the way around the door opening).
