Stereo / Climate Control Wooden Surround
Hi,
Today I temporarily removed the stereo/climate control stack to install an iSimple RadioMod unit which gives you Aux/line in by plugging into your aerial socket. It works quite well has allowed me to plug into the original stereo my Pure DAB/bluetooth/handsfree device which previously was transmitting via FM with poor sound quality.
That aside one problem/question the wooden surround is now loose at the top and sticks out a bit, have I done something wrong is there anything that keeps the top of it in place? It is not very noticeable but bothers me.
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,
On both of my cars if tabs were fitted they have long gone.
Make sure the screws are all the way home and the frame is sitting as it should.
A small amount of blu tak can help secure the top section.

Hi John,
I think the same applies here, apparently, the stereo surround is very weak plastic and as people fiddle around with it (replacing/fixing broken digital clocks, stereos, etc.) it breaks over time.
Blu tak - now that might just be the answer...
Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick,
It might do the trick, another slight pain is the clips around the gear selector, these have a tendency to break.
A thin strip of double sided tape keeps everything in place, only you know it is there and it is easy to remove next time you need to work in that area.
