Stripped Caliper Guide Pins

Stripped Caliper Guide Pins
Hello,
I've got a brake squeak just before the car comes to a full stop that's been driving me crazy for the past few weeks.
I tired to take the caliper off to clean the pads and rotor and apply to anti-squeal to the backs of the pads, but I can't seem to get the guide pins removed.
The hex head seems to be stripped on both the upper and lower pins for the driver's side caliper. These aren't Torx heads, are they? (I assumed they are hex as were the pins on my 1992 XJ6)
Any ideas on how to remove these? I think I'd have to trim the rubber boot off and go at the hex pins with vice grips or something, replacing the pins and boots with new ones, of course, once they were out.
Anyone have this issue?
Thanks,
Nick
