Is there an XJR6 fuel pump test?

Hi.

I have had my XJR6 parked up in the garage for some time (4 years or so) and decided it was time it came out again to get it roadworthy. However it wouldn't start. Plenty of spark to the plugs but on opening up the fuel rail there was no fuel at all. I assumed fuel pumps so pulled the tank and removed the pumps to check them on the bench. They whirred and emptied the petrol out of them so I assume they are fine, or are they???

Is there a test I can do to them to make sure they are pumping at the correct pressure before I put them back in. I don't really want to be having the tank out twice if it does turn out they have 'part failed'

Other than this I am wondering where to check next, Fuel regulator maybe?

Good job getting the pump out ...! not always an easy task.
Since parked for four years (wow) you might have varnish/bad fuel with crap in it clogging the fuel filter, if not the pump.
The pump is inexpensive (thinking URO brand $65?) and after four years of sitting --- and how many miles --- would be a good idea to renew
Essential to replace the fuel filter too, easy and inexpensive.
When back together, you can gently undo the rail gland nut with the ignition on (if you don't have a rail pressure test gauge) ... to see if fuel pressure is developing.
I had the same prob with my car and had to replace the fuel filter.... and the fuel. presto.
My old pump was okay even with 114K miles.
When you get it running recommend using premium fuel only, and put some Marvel Mystery oil in the fuel tank.
