Default Trunk water leak

Hi.

I have a small water leak in the trunk. I can see the water trickling down the rear wheel arch inside the trunk, but can not find the source of the leak. I sealed the body seam that runs from the rear window to the trunk opening but it still leaks. I also run some window sealant around the corner of the window. Has anyone had the same problem, and cured the leak. Could the rear quarter light window be the cause and the water is tracking along the inside and ending up in the trunk?
Cheers

chances are its coming in via the rear window, rust or a broken seal where as you can't see it.remove rear glass to check. first crawl inside and have someone run water from a bucket.check side glass as well.or possible plugged or loose sunroof hose.

I would go for the vertical seal on the rear windscreen, had 2 cars where this seal was very shy on sealant resulting in water in the boot and rust in the corner by the fuel filler.

Hi.

Did you seal the glass to window side, or seal both sides, ie body to seal and window to seal?
Cheers

Its a polyurethane seal goes body to glass. You have to prep the glass and body then a bead is laid down on the glass about 10mm wide and 15mm high in a triangular cross section = /_\ position the glass accurately as the outer ‘seal’ is a push fit.
