So I was poking around in the trunk/boot today, and along with the never used 1996 (date code 356) Pirelli P-Zero tire, I found the following two items that I'm curious about. ....and yes, time to get a new spare apparently. I guess I should keep the original as a souvenir *laugh*


The first is some sort of module plugged into a weather-pack connector. What is this little module?

The second is an unused connector. It looks white in the photo but is actually clear. I assume it is/was for something that the 1997 USA spec XJR doesn't have, but the harness had the wiring anyway. Any idea what it would have been used for?

Not critical to figure these out, but I was just curious

 

There is a stray wire in the boot, white if memory serves me right, which was part of the dealer shipping set up and would have been connected to some device or other, which is removed prior to sale. Can't remember it's function, but it would now be defunct. Don't connect it to anything, although it shouldn't be live, best to leave it alone.

Otherwise, no other info.

 

I think I read in another thread that it was plugged into something for the dealer where when they drove it from the factory to the dealer that it didn't count the miles.

Something of that sort.

 

Heh, well isn't that "interesting". Seems like a lot of trouble to simply not rack up what had to be just a few miles between the factory and dealer. Which also BTW, seems a bit deceptive
