Wheel Wobble
Hey guys,
I’ve noticed a small wheel wobble when driving my 1996 XJ6 VDP - it’s hardly noticeable, and usually only when I’m over 80 kph - I’ve ruled it sort of to either a tire issue or a front suspension issue (I feel it in the steering, not my seat). If I recall correctly, these cars tended to be hard on either their bearings or their bushings, but I can’t remember which. Could this be a cause of it? Any other suggestions? Thanks! |
Lots of things to consider here, from wishbone bushes, through tyres, brakes to incorrect wheel alignment. Bushes generally tend to go much faster than bearings. Take the wheels off and have a look?

Agree with Katar, but as a relatively painless way to start look up threads on front wheel bearing adjustment. They occasionally need tightened a little, but avoid the temptation to nip them up tight!

Ok I’ll start with those two - I remembered that they either eat the bushings or the bearings but I couldn’t remember which - thanks for clarifying.
I didn’t know you could tighten them up a little bit - I’ll pop the wheel and check em out too. Thanks guys! :) |
just out of interest, could you open your fuel filler flap and check the drain is clear?
