I am aware that some modern cars protect themselves against possible wash issues and may decline to start within an hour or so if the ECU feels there is petrol lying around in the cylinders but there's usually a way around it. But again this isn't what you guys are talking about.

I agree there's a small risk of premature wear if you are forever moving the car in and out of the garage say but the sort of things referred to here would surprise me.

But as ever I'm here to learn!
