X300 97 wiper and flush stopped working

Hi this is a call from New born Jaguar owner in Sweden: I have just gotten my first Jaguar, a X300 4.0 Sovereign from 1997 with 89000 km only in it. it's imported from Spain so no corrosion. I just noted that the wiper and flush stops working (or goes on) when I move the stearing wheel with the electrical control. I have understood from others in the forum that it might be a bad connection in the cabling from the handle on the steering handle. Does anyone have any further information of this or any further details ?

Kindest Regards Sven

Sounds like a great question for Lady P.........where did she go? I am sure if she was on she would know exactly what to look for. You might try to PM her

Sven,

Sounds exactly like the problem I encountered a few years back. If you a search on "Crazy Wiper Problem" you will find my description of how I dealt with it.

Good Luck!

Andrew

I have seen post on this from others with the wiring inside the steering column

Let me see what I can find

Otherwise I made a print of the system but is on a locked up computer , hence my disappearance before buying a new computer

This post covers alot of area on the wiper system below :

All I can say at this time is to remove the lower cover on the column and slightly tug on the wires to the switch and they can be soldiered back on if any pop off
