XJR keeping good Coventry company
I am a fan of Alvises, my dad owning a 1928 12/50 Alvis since 1960.
I was driving the XJR through Napier NZ yesterday and I saw a 1961 TD 3 litre Alvis. I had to stop for a look, and a photo of the 2 cars together.
For a few years i have thought about a 3 litre Alvis as a daily classic driver - about 110-120 bhp, 4 wheel disc brakes and power steering. They were good for 100mph when new.

This weekend here in Napier NZ is the annual Art Deco weekend, which celebrates the rebuild of Napier in predominantly Art Deco style following the 1931 earthquake
His involves a vintage car display so ispent most of Sunday washing, chamoising, cutting and polishing the 1928 Alvis' 54 year old paint job
The weekend before I polished the XJR , both cars with a quality synthetic Meguiars liquid polish
Both the Coventry cars came up pretty well..
