18" Milan wheels on a VDP

Default 18" Milan wheels on a VDP
I'm looking at a set of Milan 18" wheels for my '98 VDP. Question about tires: the XJR has 255/40R18 as standard, and the upgrades I see for the XJ8 are 245/45R18. Which tire would I use, the 255 best fit for rim, or the 245 fit for the car? Will they 245s fit on the XJR rim?
